Pencil on aged paper.
I like this piece very much. It's beautiful and disquieting.
I absolutely love this! So intriguing, and so many interesting details - the eyes are my favourite. As for the "critique" the genius before me wrote; The lack of contexts makes it fascinating, gets my brain and imagination working, and it's inspiring as well.
let me get this straight: after this dream, she woke up with her eyes gouged out and those 5 eyes floating around her ? And she can see through those 5 eyes ?
what about the tentacle on the left ? Did it grow after that dream too ? Or is it unrelated to her ? ( I must say as it is I can't understand what it's doing here, I would think it rather weakens the drawing - yet there may be a reason for its presence )
Her clothes are reminiscent of a nun, also she is handing someone a message: what is her status in the place she lives ? What place is it anyway ?
In short, I think this drawing is in need of a context…
A context? This is a surreal piece attempting to convey the mood of Lovecraft and other "weird" writers. An obvious explanation would defeat this and I think most people are smart enough to be able to like a picture for its asthetic worth rather than a blatant point, message or "context".
The context is left to the observer. What you make of this picture is up to you. The power is in the observer and not the observed.
If it is to have any context it can only be "weird" so the fact that this piece has raised so many questions proves it has done its job and done such without an obvious context.
Oh and thanks for the critique even though I did not request any. I checked your page so I could return the favour but it appears that you have no work up and tend to like photos of naked women.
Now I can see why my artwork confused you. I do apologise.
